South Bank Centre

South Bank Centre

Created in 1951 for the Festival of Britain, the centre draws on its heritage as a festival site, with art and activities inside and outside. Everyone is encouraged to become involved in the arts in new and creative ways.
The Centre offers a wide range of cultural events including music, dance, art, performance and spoken word events throughout the year. Free activities and events are offered, and a wide range of restaurants, cafes and shops provide refreshments and gifts.
Every year, thousands of musicians and artists perform to millions of visitors, making this one of the most popular cultural destinations in the UK. The Centre is also host to various festivals throughout the year.
